The Garden consists of six acres of lush, drought-tolerant landscaping with more than 15 exhibits and over 600 species of plants adapted to the southern California climate. Visitors will enjoy strolling on meandering trails with many areas to sit and enjoy the views. The Garden also has several interactive areas including a children’s trail and a butterfly pavilion. The Garden receives support from our Water Agency Partners: Helix Water District, Otay Water District, Sweetwater Authority and the City of San Diego, but also depends on memberships and private donations to help The Garden grow.
Admission is free, and the Garden can be viewed on a self-guided tour, or through one of our programs.
The Garden can be a learning laboratory for the dedicated gardener, a delightful place for an afternoon stroll, or a place to gather lots of information about water-wise, or California-Friendly® gardening, while attending a fun family festival.
