Part laboratory, part museum, the Brain Observatory provides students of diverse socio-economic backgrounds with training and experience. Dr. Annese is creating a world-wide archive of human brains for educational and research purposes.
In addition to its role as a neuroimaging laboratory, Dr. Annese has co-curated a gallery of artwork illustrating the interplay of neuroscience and the arts. The current exhibition features six international artists who explore the interplay of scientific research and interpretation by the brain.
The Brain Observatory, founded in 2005 by Dr. Jacopo Annese, started as a research lab on the campus of The University of California, San Diego (UCSD).
