Open Through June 15 at La Jolla Riford Library
Reopens September 2026 at San Diego Central Library
RUTH: Remember Us the Holocaust and it’s newest exhibit San Diego Holocaust Survivors Tell Their Stories may currently be visited at the La Jolla Riford Library. It is always FREE and open to the public. The exhibit features San Diego Holocaust survivors who are continuing to share their stories along with those who have made significant contributions to our history. RUTH provides a unique, immersive experience shedding light on ALL victims of the Holocaust to demonstrate how it was not only Jewish victims but other victims that followed in the footsteps of their unfortunate fate as well. The exhibit features 16 life-size cardboard cutouts of Holocaust survivors. More than a dozen of the survivors are still living in San Diego. Suitable for: Adults / Teens. Read more here.
The exhibit has been recognized by the USC Shoah Foundation, Chula Vista Cultural Arts, Chula Vista Elementary School District, the City of Chula Vista, Southwestern College, San Diego County Arts and Culture Commission, San Diego Museum Council, and Jewish organizations throughout San Diego.
The free exhibit runs until June 15, 2026 at the La Jolla Riford Library. Exhibit creator and curator Sandy Scheller will be at the exhibit every Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and welcomes field trips from schools. To book her presentation, visit sscheller@cox.net.
