In 2023, Centro Cultural Tijuana (CECUT) paid tribute to the 15th anniversary of El Cubo, an emblematic space in the state that has been the venue of hundreds of national and international artists and exhibitions. The 1,500 square meters of exhibition area, without a doubt, allows the city and its visitors to appreciate more frequently masterpieces of universal art, as well as various cultural manifestations. This museum has characterized itself for being a space of reflection and learning that transcends areas, such as digital spaces, and reaches education communities, indigenous communities, and people with special needs. El Cubo (called “The Cube” because its shape) has several exhibitions spaces, including three galleries –that together adds to 1,500-plus m²– that posses all the quality and safety standards for the exhibition preservation of the artwork. With 100-plus exhibitions under its belt, El Cubo is the right place to exhibit any kind of artwork. The venue has high technical specifications to house art collections in its three rooms and also offers multidisciplinary cultural events in its various areas, such as the Cube Lobby, Terraces 1, 2, and 3, Mezzanine and English Corridor today known as “Estación Vizcaíno”, a space where you can listen to classical music and audios of Latin American literature in the voices of various contemporary authors.
After three years of construction (from July 2005 to September 2008), El Cubo was inaugurated on September 27, 2008, integrating into the architectural complex of the Tijuana Cultural Center to reinforce its offer of the visual arts and cultural heritage in the northwest of Mexico.
