RECONNECT WITH HISTORY
Green Dragon Museum & Tavern – Carlsbad, CA
The Green Dragon Museum & Tavern, located in scenic Carlsbad, California, brings the spirit of America’s founding era to life on the West Coast. Inspired by the original Green Dragon Tavern in Boston—a historic meeting place for revolutionaries like Paul Revere and Samuel Adams—this unique destination offers guests a tangible connection to early American history, the ideals of liberty, and the visionary individuals who shaped the nation. Visitors can explore fascinating exhibits, then enjoy a relaxing lunch or dinner in the warm and inviting restaurant and tavern, making it an ideal outing for history lovers, families, and curious minds of all ages.
A Museum Unlike Any Other
Housed in a building designed with authentic Colonial-style architecture, the Green Dragon Museum is home to a growing collection of rare original documents from the Colonial and Revolutionary War periods. Much of the collection is drawn from the private archive of Bruce Bartlett, compiled over more than 25 years. These holdings are enriched by strategic partnerships with the Pilgrim Hall Museum—the oldest continuously operating museum in the United States—and the New England Historic Genealogical Society, the country’s premier resource for family history research.
Exhibits feature significant documents associated with historical figures such as Paul Revere, John Hancock, Benjamin Franklin, and Daniel Webster, each offering visitors a deeply personal window into America’s origins. Admission to the museum is complimentary, making it accessible for individuals and families of all ages.
Designed to encourage education, reflection, and engagement, the museum includes inviting educational spaces and offers guided tours for schools, families, and large groups. Guests are even welcome to enjoy a glass of craft beer or wine as they explore the exhibits, creating a uniquely immersive and relaxed atmosphere.
