Museo del Vino / Vine and Wine Museum
The permanent collection of this museum in Ensenada offers the public a tour of history, industry, identity and wine, as well as its relationship with art, all distributed on its two levels. In the History Room you can learn about the first evidence of wine production in the world, and how this drink is part of the uses and customs of peoples and civilizations. The Vine and Wine Museum presents four temporary exhibitions a year and for the enjoyment of its visitors, it has a themed garden.
In Valle de Guadalupe, in what was formerly LA Cetto vineyards, you can see the construction designed by Ensenada architect Eduardo Arjona that houses the Vine and Wine Museum. Its museography takes place in four rooms dedicated to the birth of wine in the ancient Caucasus and its first centuries, the arrival of wine to Baja California with the missionaries, the spread of viticulture in the region, to the emergence of the current industry and the relationship between art and wine. It also has large gardens, an open-air theater, a gift shop, and a cafe. Its wine bar has a wide variety of bottles from the region; From Thursday to Sunday, tastings of two different local wines are offered.
