The San Diego Air & Space Museum in Balboa Park is California’s official air and space museum and education center. Aviation and military buffs can spend hours at the museum exploring its dozens of full-size jets, historic aircraft and spacecraft, including a real Apollo 9 command module. The highlights of this museum also include the International Aerospace Hall of Fame and the 3D/4D theater that shows aviation and space-related films.
Aviation history is truly a remarkable story, and it all unfolds at the San Diego Air & Space Museum. View examples of World War I fighter aircraft and other reproductions, including Charles Lindbergh’s Spirit of St. Louis. Thrill-seeking bigger kids can get an adrenaline rush from interactive flight simulators that dive, roll, spin, and spiral through the air while dodging fire from enemy aircraft. Younger children will love the all-new Moon Base San Diego with its interactive and immersive learning activities for explorers of all ages who want to experience a trip to the Moon.
