Tijuana Aquarium / Acuario Centro Cultural Tijuana
The Tijuana Aquarium is the only one of its kind in the state of Baja California, it has a surface area of 300 square meters and is located inside the facilities of the Tijuana Cultural Center. It houses 500 specimens belonging to 12 species native to the region, 41 species from different parts of the world and 13 more Australian corals, in addition to a species of jellyfish and another species of freshwater turtle.
El Cubo (The Cube)
In 2023, Centro Cultural Tijuana (CECUT) paid tribute to the 15th anniversary of El Cubo, an emblematic space in the state that has been the venue of hundreds of national and international artists and exhibitions. The 1,500 square meters of exhibition area, currently featuring Czech artist David Cernys: ‘Rebelión’, allows the city and its visitors to appreciate more frequently masterpieces of universal art, as well as various cultural manifestations.
Museum of the Californias / Museo de las Californias
Inaugurated on February 24, 2000, the Museo de las Californias has a permanent exhibition of objects representative of regional history, ranging from prehistory to the second half of the 20th century. When visiting, you’ll discover a fascinating collection of historical artifacts, including maps, tools and journals going back to the 16th-century expeditions of the legendary conquistador Hernán Cortés. Its main focus, though, is on fossils from the local Sierra de la Laguna range.
Tijuana History Museum / Museo de Historia de Tijuana
The Museo de Historia de Tijuana / Tijuana History Museum is located in the Palacio de la Cultura de Tijuana and was inaugurated in November 2010, it is the space dedicated to the conservation and dissemination of the heritage and history of Tijuana. It offers a permanent exhibition hall as a tribute to the city, its history, and its inhabitants, showing its natural and urban landscape, economic and social life, artistic and sporting expressions.
