The San Diego Veterans Day Parade
On November 11, 2024, come together with thousands of San Diegans for the San Diego Veterans Day Parade in honor of those who served and for a special tribute to the 80th Anniversary of the D-Day Invasion during World War II
The San Diego Veterans Day Parade will march down Harbor Drive, along San Diego Bay, between the County Administration Building and the USS Midway Museum on Monday, November 11, from 10 – 11:30 a.m.
San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria will lead the parade. Three D-Day veterans, all more than 100 years old, will serve as grand marshals representing the more than 160,000 Allied forces that landed on the beaches of Normandy on June 6, 1944, as well as hundreds of thousands of other military personnel that were involved in support of the invasion.
The San Diego Veterans Day Parade began in 1987 and continues to be the largest parade on the West Coast that salutes military veterans. It’s important, especially in a Navy and Marine Corps town like San Diego, that the service and sacrifice of America’s military veterans are remembered and honored.
Join the SoCal French American Chamber of Commerce on November 6 in commemorating a monumental milestone, the 80th Anniversary Celebration of D-Day, hosted at the exquisite Intercontinental San Diego. This special event offers a breathtaking view of the iconic USS Midway, setting the perfect thematic backdrop for a night of remembrance and honor. Learn more here.
This year, honors and welcomes true heroes—veterans who braved the Normandy landings 80 years ago. Their courage and sacrifice will be the centerpiece of our celebration, as we pay homage to their invaluable contribution to freedom. Get your tickets here now. Deadline for registration is Tuesday, November 5 2024.
